Impressive Beijing Package Tour with Good Services - (3)

Had visited the most symbols of Beijing, my husband and I had harvested lots of photos and the profound culture and history of Beijing. This day, we enjoyed the typical folk custom of Beijing in different places.

Stone Ship in Summer Palace

Summer Palace is famous for the largest and best preserved imperial garden in Beijing. In Qing Dynasty, Summer Palace was built by the Qianlong Emperor who sent this garden as a birthday gift to his mother. From that time, Summer Palace became the ideal place for royal to kill the summer heat. In order to not delay the national affairs, Summer Palace was built with some palaces for state. So besides the Forbidden City, Summer Palace is also the imperial palace in summer. Built on the base of Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, Summer Palace is the prefect combination of southern and northern gardens in China. At present, the Summer Palace is opened to public and is the garden for local people. Especially in Summer, the Kunming Lake is crowded with lotuses, the green and clean water push these lotuses seems like the pink boats in the sides of lake. In ancient time, the Kunming Lake is also known as the West Lake, but is different the West Lake in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. In Beijing, it is one of the rare peaceful places, is regarded as the leisure place for local people to take exercise, do some handwork and talk about with each other. The Summer Palace is not the garden just for royal any more, it is the beautiful and peaceful garden for ordinary people, which make it popular and more alive.

Besides the Summer Palace, we also enjoyed the Lama Temple, Olympic Green and Beijing Capital Museum, these spots let us know more about the traditional folk-customs in Beijing. Compared with the visiting in two days before, this day showed more interesting and local things and habits.
