Overview about Beijing Traditional Opera Museum
Beijing Traditional Opera Museum located in the Huguang Guildhall Chamber at Hufangqiao in Xuanwu District. The Huguang Chamber, is the place where visitors who interest about Peking Opera can get details and its history. It was first established on Jiaqing 12th Year of Qing Dynasty, which includes a series building like big opera tower, Xiangxian Memorial Hall, Wenchang Pavilion, Baoshang Hall, Chuyuan Hall, etc.

Beijing Traditional Opera Museum itself was built and officially opened to the public on September 6, 1997. The exhibition hall of Beijing Traditional Opera Museum displays precious treasure of traditional opera documents, cultural relics, pictures and audiovisual materials. The basic exhibition of the traditional museum is "Beijing Traditional Opera Brief History". It displays Beijing traditional opera developing history that mainly focused on Beijing Opera.

The exhibition works also display the precious collecting works like "The Teacher Recognizing Picture" of the Beijing opera masters, Wang Yaoqing and Mei Lanfang, the costume of martial actor master, Yang Xiaolou and etc. In additional, the old design Peking Opera theater stage is also the highlight of this museum. With its old style and design, it has a background decorated with phoenix, dragon, and peony patterns. Its seat are in the front, right and left side of the stage which are can hold a total of more than 1,000 audience members at a time.
