China Art Gallery

the art works in China Art GalleryChina Art Gallery or Meishuguan is one of the largest national art museums in China. The museum features outstanding works of modern Chinese artists. It is the place where visitors could enjoy ancient and modern art of China.

Overview about China Art Gallery
China Art Gallery was established in 1962 and covers a total area over 18,000 square meters. It is located in Wusi Street, Dongcheng District and was dedicated to the collection, research, and exhibition of modern and contemporary artistic works in China. This large art museum divided into five floors with a total of 21 exhibition halls. The building is decorated with glazed tiles, a natural Chinese construction material. Many of the walls are paved with light yellow ceramic bricks.

China Art Gallery houses more than 100,000 pieces art collections including traditional Chinese painting, sculpture, pottery, costume, oil painting etc. The museum also provides advanced facilities and complete service. There is also mobile phone charging equipment and exhibition free brochures at reception counter. In additional, the museum also offers an art shop which located at the west side of the first floor. The shop mainly sells all kinds of limited editions of art derivatives, developed independently by National Art Museum of China. A café is also available at the east side of the first floor.

By Subway:
Dongsi Station:Line 5, about 300 meters west of the exit of Dongsi Station
Dongsi Station:Line 6, about 300 meters west of the exit of Dongsi Station

Take bus no.614, 202, 103, 211, 111 and get off at the National Art Museum of China.
Take bus no. 201, 104, 108, Te 11 and get off at National Art Museum North.
Take bus no. 685, 101, 420, 109, 112, 609 and get off at National Art Museum East.

Not closed on Mondays and open all year round including festivals and holidays
Ticket office is located at southeast corner of front yard of National Art Museum of China. Visitors can collect free tickets against with valid ID card (passport) and enter the museum via check-in entrance. 4,000 free tickets issued at the door (09:00-16:00) and 2,000 online per day.
