The stage in the front of the Teahouse, sells a variety of local Beijing snacks—all of which must be paid for with ancient copper coins (which can be bought on the premises), giving you the feel for old Beijing.

The teahouse's program consists of a "string of folk art performances", among them the Laotianqiao "Eight Freaks" performance is the one you cannot miss. These "eight freaks" are idols in the minds of many Beijing people.

Nowadays, it is hard to find time to sit down to a meal with friends: food in their mouths, music in their ears, sights for their eyes, and the calls of "Hao!Hao!" or "Great!Great!" from the audience at some particularly briliant part of the performance. At times like this, you have truly become an out-and-out Beijing person!
