Overview about Beijing Curio City
Located in the south of Panjiayuan Antique Market, Beijing Curio City is the first second-hand market (curio distribution center) under the management of the government in China and even the largest antique art exchanging center in Asia. The market complex has covering a total area of 23,400 square meters with about 500 stores of old and antique artifacts. The market has four stories of kitsch and curio shops and a few furniture vendors, some of whom may be selling authentic antiques, gifts, ceramics, carpets, duty-free shopping as well as furniture.

Beijing Curio City is massive shopping mall complex mainly managing in old porcelain, paintings, jade carvings, carpet, furniture, clocks, jewelry, etc. Many of the dealers are themselves connoisseurs and curio collectors. Prices offered in Beijing Curio City are on the higher side but at least some of the stalls accept credit cards. This is a convenient place to stop if you are short on time and would like to see a good collection of antiques.

Important Notes
It is an excellent place to turn up knick-knacks and souvenirs, especially on Sundays. You will have more fun if you visit early in the morning, before the tourists arrive, and assume that the pieces are not genuine antiques. Wandering around the curio city will enlarge your knowledge about the Chinese culture. At the same time, your eyes will be dazzled by just enjoy and admire these ancient art treasures. Be prepared to bargain, and take your time for find your favorite items in the best price.

Every year, Beijing Curio City is also the place where host the Ethnic Minorities Culture Expo and the Beijing International Antique Fair.

Take the subway line 10 and get off at Jinsong station and then take the bus 28 to Beijing Curio City.
