Itinerary of: Mongolian Grassland Tour

Day 1
Arrival in Beijing

Our guide will pick you up at the exit of Beijing Airport and transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to explore the city.

Day 2
Beijing (B, L)
Sacred Way

Pick you up from your hotel and visit the Badaling Great Wall. You will be driven to have Sichuan food at a popular local restaurant. After lunch, we will visit the Sacred Way and the Ming Tombs. On the way back to downtown Beijing, we drive by the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium). This and other features of Olympic Park can be seen from a great distance.
- Badaling Great Wall: As its name implies it gives access to every direction. With an elevation of 600 meters it is the most famous and best-preserved section of the Great Wall.
- Ming Tombs: it is the largest clusters of imperial cemeteries in China. They are mausoleums of thirteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty. Dingling is the tomb of Emperor Shenzong and his two empresses, it is an underground palace. Changling, the tomb of Emperor Chengzu and his empress, is the largest and most magnificent one of the Ming Tombs.
- Sacred Road: Which means the road leading to heaven is lined with 18 pairs of stone human figures and animals, they are important decorations of the mausoleum.

Day 3
Beijing - Hohhot (B, L)
Panda

Pick you up from your hotel and visit the New Summer Palace and the lovely Pandas in Beijing Zoo. Take a flight to Hohhot and transfer to the hotel.
- Summer Palace: the largest and best preserved imperial garden of the Qing Dynasty extant in Beijing, as well as a famous classical imperial garden.
- Beijing Zoo: Beijing Zoo is China's largest treasure house of animals and birds and has become one of the ten biggest ZOOs in the world.

Day 4
Hohhot (B, L)
Grassland

Drive to the Gegentala Grassland. Visit a herdsman's tent and enjoy Mongolian Singing and Dances. Stay overnight at the tent.
- Gegentala Grassland: Gegentala Grassland is the largest and a unique Mongolian scenic spot bearing the Mongolian ethical features of China.

Day 5
Hohhot - Datong (B, L)
Zhaojun Tomb

Drive back to Hohhot. Visit Zhaojun Tomb, Five Pagoda Temple and Dazhao Temple. Take a soft seat luxury train to Datong and transfer to the hotel.
- Zhaojun Tomb: Zhaojun Tomb is situated nine kilometers (approx. 6 miles) away from Hohhot, on the plain extending from the northern bank of the Dahei River. The tomb is listed among the eight most popular scenic spots in Hohhot.
- Dazhao Monastery: Dazhao Temple, 'Wuliang Si (Infinite Temple)' in Chinese, is the oldest building and the largest temple in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia.

Day 6
Datong - Beijing (B, L)
Yungang Grotto

Pick you up from your hotel and visit the Yungang Grottoes and  Hanging Monastery. Take an overnight soft sleeper train to Beijing.
- Yungang Grottoes: Another UNESCO Culture Heritage Site. It is the largest cluster of Grottoes in China with some 51,000 sculpures of varying sizes in 53 rock caves. This grottoes has a history of 1,500 years old.
- Hanging Monastery: With a history of 1,400 years and being constructed on precipitous cliffs, the temple makes itself an architectural wonder throughout history by standing as far as 50 meters from the ground.

Day 7
Beijing (B, L, D)
Forbidden City

Pick you up at Beijing railway station. After having breakfast at the hotel, visit Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City this morning. Then an a la carte lunch is served at a very nice restaurant to taste the authentic Chinese food. In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Heaven. The Beijing Duck Dinner is served at a famous restaurant followed by a lively Chinese Kung Fu Show at Liyuan Theatre. After the tour, transfer back to your hotel.
- Tiananmen Square: the largest public square in the world. It is 880 meters from north to south, and 500 meters from east to west, with a total area of 440,000 square meters and can hold one million people.
- Forbidden City: the largest ancient imperial palaces where 24 emperors, 14 of the Ming and 10 of the Qing, ruled the country from here over a span of nearly 500 years.
- Temple of Heaven: The perimeter of the Temple of Heaven is 6,369 meters with 6 meters high. The temple was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for good harvests.

Departure from Beijing (B)

Transfer to the airport and see off. Wish you a happy journey.
