Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Beijing

Our guide will pick you up at the exit of Beijing Airport and transfer you to the hotel. The rest day is on your own to explore the city.

Day 2
Beijing (B, L, D)
Forbidden City

Pick you up from your hotel and visit Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven. A Beijing Duck Dinner will be served at a famous restaurant, followed by a lively Peking Opera performance at the Liyuan Theatre. After the tour, transfer back to your hotel!
- Tiananmen Square: the largest public square in the world. It is 880 meters from north to south, and 500 meters from east to west, with a total area of 440,000 square meters and can hold one million people.
- Forbidden City: the largest ancient imperial palaces where 24 emperors, 14 of the Ming and 10 of the Qing, ruled the country from here over a span of nearly 500 years.
- Temple of Heaven: The temple was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for good harvests.

Day 3
Day 3: Beijing (B, L)
Badaling Great Wall

Pick you up from your hotel and visit the Badaling Great Wall. To avoid having lunch at shopping site restaurants, you will be driven to have Sichuan food at a local popular restaurant. Visit the Sacred Way, the Ming Tomb, the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium), You will see its appearance at a distance. After the tour, transfer back to your hotel!
- Badaling Great Wall: As its name implies it gives access to every direction. With an elevation of 600 meters it is the most famous and best-preserved section of the Great Wall.
- Ming Tombs: it is the largest clusters of imperial cemeteries in China. They are mausoleums of thirteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty.
- Sacred Road: Which means the road leading to heaven is lined with 18 pairs of stone human figures and animals, they are important decorations of the mausoleum.

Day 4
Beijing - Xining (B, L)
Summer Palace

Pick you up from your hotel and visit the Summer Palace and the Lama Temple. Then take a flight to Xining and transfer to the hotel.
- Summer Palace: the largest and best preserved imperial garden of the Qing Dynasty extant in Beijing, as well as a famous classical imperial garden.
- Lama Temple: the Yonghegong Lamasery is the largest and most perfectly preserved lamasery of Gelug Sect(Yellow Sect of the Lamaism)in present day Beijing.

Day 5
Xining - Lanzhou (B, L)
Gansu Provincial Museum

Visit the Ta'er Monastery. Take a soft seat train to Lanzhou and transfer to the hotel. Visit the Gansu Provincial Museum.

Day 6
Lanzhou (B, L)
Binglingsi Grottoes

Pick you up from your hotel and take you to visit the Binglingsi Grottoes.

Day 7
Lanzhou - Xiahe (B, L)
Sangke Grassland

Drive to Xiahe and transfer to the hotel. Visit the Sangke Grassland and have a visit to a Tibetan Family.
- Sangke Grassland: Sangke prairie is at an elevation of 3000 meters (9843 feet) with an area of 70 square kilometers (27 square miles). It enjoys a good reputation in the northwest Tibetan district for its excellent pasture and frequent magnificent Buddhist ceremonies.

Day 8
Xiahe - Lanzhou (B, L)
Labrang Monastery

Pick you up from your hotel and visit the Labrang Monastery and have a watch of the morning devotion there. Drive back to Lanzhou.
- Labrang Monastery: The monastery was founded in 1709 by the first Jamyang Zhaypa, Ngawang Tsondru. It is one of the six great monasteries of the Geluk (Yellow Hat) school of Tibetan Buddhism.

Day 9
Lanzhou - Wuwei (B, L)

Drive to Wuwei and transfer to the hotel. Visit the Han Tombs, the excavation site of the Logo of National Tourism of China - the Bronze Gallopping Horse and the Confucius Temple.

Day 10
Wuwei - Zhangye (B, L)
Wooden Tower

Drive to Zhangye and transfer to the local best hotel. Visit the Giant Buddha Temple, the Wooden Tower of Sui Dynasty, the Bell Tower and the Drum Tower.
- Giant Buddha Temple: it is well known for the remains of the biggest indoor sculpture reclining of Nirvana Buddha in China.
- Wooden Tower: it is a nine-storey building about 32.8 meters (107.6 feet) high.

Day 11
Zhangye - Jiayuguan (B, L)
Jiayuguan Pass

Drive to Jiayuguan and transfer to the hotel. Visit the Jiayuguan Pass, the First Fire Tower of Great Wall and theWei-Jin Mural Brick Tomb.
- Jiayuguan Pass: is situated at the narrowest point of the western section of the Hexi Corridor, 6 kilometers southwest of the Jiayuguan city in Gansu.
- Wei-Jin Mural Brick Tomb: it is renowned as the largest subterranean art gallery in the world and housing a great deal of colorful murals.

Day 12
Jiayuguan - Dunhuang (B, L)
Crescent Spring

Drive to Dunhuang and transfer to the hotel. You will experience a short camel-riding along the Echoing-Sand Dune to reach the Crescent Spring.
- Echoing-Sand Dune: The Dune is five kilometers (about three miles) away from the city of Dunhuang. Seen from afar, the mountain is just like a golden dragon winding its way over the horizon.
- Crescent Spring: is a natural wonder shape like a crescent in the desert. It enjoys the title of "The Wonders of the Gobi Desert."

Day 13
Dunhuang - Turpan (B, L)
Mogao Grottoes

Pick you up from your hotel and visit the Mogao Grottoes and the Dunhuang Museum. Take an overnight soft sleeper train to Turpan.
- Mogao Grottoes: Mogao means high up in the desert. The Mogao Caves are the best known of the Chinese Buddhist grottoes and, along with Longmen Grottoes and Yungang Grottoes, are one of the three famous ancient sculptural sites of China.

Day 14
Turpan (B, L)
Sugong Pagoda

Pick you up at Turpan railway station and transfer to the hotel. After having breakfast at the hotel, visit the Jiaohe Ruins, the Karez Well and the Sugong Pagoda.
- Jiaohe Ruins: Jiaohe means twisting rivers in Chinese, it is surrounded by sheer cliffs and it is the best preserved town ruin in China.
- Karez Well: is a kind of underground water works invented and built by laboring people of various ethnic groups in China to adapt to the natural environment in dry region.
- Sugong Pagoda: is the largest extant old tower in Xinjiang; it is the only Islamic tower among the hundred famous towers in China.

Day 15
Turpan - Urumqi (B, L)
Gaochang Ruins

Pick you up from your hotel and visit the Gaochang Ruins, the Baizikeli Thousand Buddha Cave and the Flaming Hill. Drive to Urumqi and transfer to the hotel.
- Gaochang Ruins: used to be a key point along the Silk Road, Gaochang ancient city was now one of the best-preserved ruins of the ancient cities in China.
- Baizikeli Thousand Buddha Cave: stand high on the cliffs of west Mutou Valley, 45 km (28miles) east of Turpan. The Caves had been the Buddhist center of Gaochang.
- Flaming Hill: is a small mountain running across the basin. the mountain is a combination of red sand and rocks, looking at the mountain from the distance in te sunsight, the heat waves and the floating clouds will make the mountain appear as though it is on fire.

Day 16
Urumqi - Shanghai (B, L)

Take a flight to Shanghai and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon is free. You can take the time to walk around The Bund area and Nanjing Road.

Day 17
Shanghai (B, L, D)
The Bund

Pick you up from your hotel and visit the Shanghai Museum and the Yuyuan Garden. After lunch, visit the bund and the Nanjing Road. Tonight an a la carte farewell dinner is served at Central Hotel, whose restaurant Wang Bao He has a history of around 260 years and is the best place to serve Shanghai Cuisine. The memorable dinner will be followed by the Portman Acrobatic Show at the Shanghai Centre Theatre.
- Shanghai Museum: ranked as the best museum in China.
- Yuyuan Garden: is considered one of the most lavish and finest Chinese gardens in the region.
- The Bund: the picturesque bund with tall building of various tower over the river, looking as a museum of modern world architecture.
- Nanjing Road: the most famous thoroughfare in Shanghai for shopping and entertainment.

Day 18
Departure from Shanghai (B)

Pick you up from your hotel and transfer to the airport. See off.
