A trip to the Famous Lama Temple and Hutong!

I am living in Shanghai for more about 1 year and want to visit Beijing for the third time. That time I booked this private day trip with online service reservation 3 days before the tour day. I could say the whole day trip was organized and really accommodating. My family and I, especially my mom really satisfied with the itinerary. She loves a visit to the Lama Temple and also to the hutong, an old courtyard complex in Beijing.

Beautiful Architecture of Lama Temple

Walked up entered to the temple, we could see large groups of local people lighting incense and bowing. The environment around was peaceful and relaxing. The temple is small compared to the other sight in Beijing, but I thought it can be said big enough for the temple size. We even could not explore all the temple area, that such a pity! But it does not matter, we did see old architecture of the temple and learned so many history about the sight and culture. Lama Temple is one of the few Tibetan style temples in Beijing. The Buddha in the final courtyard was about sixty feet tall and housed in a very grand building. The Buddha statue was also listed by Guinness Book of World Record as the biggest on its kind. Tour guide could be personally designed our short important visit to this building before continued our trip to Hutong.

Hutong Rickshaw Tour

When we were in Hutong, we could see different layout of Beijing. Not a modern one, but the old historic one. We did take a rickshaw exploring the local Beijing residences, primary school, many famous old buildings and others. It was my first time took the ride and that was very interesting. My mom was also very enjoyed it.

Besides Hutong and Lama Temple, with this tour we also could visit Beijing Zoo (for a panda visit) and Olympic Stadium (memorized 2008 Beijing Olympic). A worth it tour which brought us visited many interesting attractions inside the city. If you are visit Beijing for the second or third time, this tour is great and ideal to join. At last, I am glad to come back to the capital again in the near future, seriously. Thank you so much for the service from your travel agency. Very professional and worth doing!

Busy Day Trip to New Landmarks of Beijing!

Beijing is not only famous for its historical places, but also popular for the successful of development for the city. A lot of new landmarks in Beijing which also has significant function in new history of China were built. With this one day private tour we explored and knew better about those landmarks history one by one. Our guide picked us up right in front of our hotel on the day tour, she greeted us friendly and nice.

National Grand Theater

We were really lucky because we could get such an informative and good guide. First destination in this tour is National Grand Theater or also called The Egg. Located near from Tiananmen Square, the Egg Theater is a national opera house in Beijing where is a home for many performance halls for music, theater, opera etc. The shape of the building is really unique and authentic, I could not find it in my home country. Other interesting buildings which also have unique shapes are China Millennium Monument and the CCTV Tower. We did have a chance to visit it with this tour. Our guide also described to us the functions and why the buildings were built.

Bird's Nest in Olympic Park

Oh, and two important buildings that I never forget is the Bird Nest and Water Cube Stadium. Both are the best and great buildings, important venues for Beijing 2008 Olympic. Not only has advanced facilities inside, both buildings were also located in the huge complex where also very clean and well maintained. Saw both stadiums was like a reminder from how success the Olympic being held at past. Sadly, because of the limited time, we could not enter to see the inner structures of the stadiums.

Night View of Wangfujing Snack Street

More than that, we also explored several business area in Beijing including Beijing Financial Street, Xidan Commercial Street (famous shopping district in Beijing), and Wangfujing Street (largest pedestrian street). Wangfujing Street was our last destination on that day. And because of our hotel is located near from the street, we decided to extend our trip in Wangfujing. Spent the night there and explore the night snack street was an interesting experience. During my one week vacation in Beijing, we had visited the street for about three times. Never bored roam around it, shopping or just walking enjoy the atmosphere at night. Nice!

Magnificent and Beautiful Landscape of Chinese Garden

The trip is really recommended for you who want visit both famous attractions in Beijing. If you love and want to see Chinese classical garden structures then Summer Palace is the best. And if you only have limited time in Beijing but want come to Great Wall then Badaling is the ideal. We only spent less than an hour time to reach the Wall. In such a hot weather, we took the cable car for save energy and time. Cable car in Great Wall is also the best way to reach the top of it without spent too much time. Very worth ride to take!

The Palace for Empress Dowager Cixi

After a short visit to the Wall, continued our way to Summer Palace. The royal garden was a place the emperor visited during the summer. When we were there, we could feel that it was cooler compared to the city. The atmosphere was also very ideal for a summer escape from the heat of Beijing.

Inside, there was a large lake in the middle of the Palace and a summer breeze from time to time made the walk refreshing. The bridge over the lake and the nicely decorated corridors were my favorite parts of the Palace. There were many parts of the Palace which reminded us of the Forbidden City, for example the buildings. Our guide brought us to explore many important cultural sites around the garden and at the same time told us some stories behind it. There were bronze ox, marble boat, Kunming lake, Longevity Hill and many more.

Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill in Summer Palace

Time goes so fast, did not feel we already spent about 2 hours at the Summer Palace. Poorly, we could not explore the whole area of the garden because the area was too big. But from this tour, we could know Summer Palace was not only a place used for the administrative area and the imperial residential area of Qing Dynasty but also become a beautiful scenic area where emperor can live and have rest when summer comes. And the history about why Summer palace was built. It was built for the birthday gift for Emperor Qianlong mother. At the end of the tour, we also had a chance to visit Olympic Stadium, new landmark of modern Beijing. A short trip in Beijing especially for the garden which gave me memorable moments!
