Highlight of My Trip to Beijing

It was an amazing and fun-filled trip I had in Beijing! I really enjoyed every minute of it, especially during our hiking on the Great Wall at Badaling section. Got to say, the outdoor hiking and trekking on the Great Wall was no doubt the highlight of my trip to Beijing! It was fun and as amazing as it could be! I got a chance to get away from the bustling city scenes and take in the outdoor landscapes as long as I wanted!

Badaling Great Wall

My Great Wall hiking was arranged on the first day of my travel in Beijing. In the morning after I had my China-style breakfast, a few steamed buns and a cup of bean milk and the like, just like what the Chinese people do when they have their everyday breakfast, my tour guide showed up right on time. I hopped on a car with him and we were all set for the day trip. The car took us to a mausoleum outside the city first. And we enjoyed some lovely walking both outside the tombs and inside one tomb. Got to say, I did not enjoy the time I had in the tomb, it was kind of creepy and scary and the exhibits displayed were just so-so. After about an hour of sightseeing in there, we were taken to a jade factory to see how the Chinese jade artifacts are made with a close look around the workshop. The factory was more fun and I really enjoyed a wonderful time walking around and enjoyed window-shopping in there!

Badaling Great Wall

After that we had a delicious lunch in a restaurant. And then we hit the road again, and this time we headed to the Great Wall for some fine trekking on the wall. It did not take long for us to get there on our ride over there. After our tour guide took care of the entrance we all hopped on a cable car up the wall. After we landed on the wall, our trekking started right away! The whole time I was quite busy snapping photos and taking in the surrounding views – all were pretty amazing and I just loved every minute of it! Definitely once in a lifetime experience! Badaling section was kind of packed with crowds that day, but as we got there earlier than the others, we did not have to nudge our way through the crowds just to get a good spot for photos.

What a fun trip! I really really want to see more of Beijing over the next few days!

Full Harvest Tour, Most Impressive Scenery

I have stayed in China for two weeks but have no much time explore Beijing. Last Thursday, my father booked Beijing Badaling Great Wall and Summer Palace tour for me. I liked this tour very much, because these two sections are my favorites. Really cheap price and we housed the exciting feeling waiting the coming of our tour.

Badaling Great Wall

I clearly remembered the tour guide is the same old with me. However, she is so smart that all the histories she got clearly and complete. Sitting on the bus, we were chatting and talking. Driver is local Beijing people familiar with the road and route. We arrived at the Badaling Great Wall within 1 hour. Perhaps because of Thursday, most people are busy with their work. We felt every light and free. It seemed that this elegant section was prepared for us. In Beijing spring, weather showed a little hotter and all the plants growing beside are sprout and blossoming. After appreciating the souvenirs sold along, we stepped on the stages. My father took pictures with every corner, trees far distance, grey bricks and the wall buildings on the foot. Walking along, I did not know how to express my exciting feeling. I wanted to give my hug with this section but failed. It is truly like a giant dragon stretching to the far distance, vigorous and breathing, accompanied by the plants and elegant mountains surrounded. After half an hour, I started to feel tired. Sitting on the ground for a short relax. The watchtower is not far from me where there are many wild grasses growing on. Some young people jumped up and down from the window. It is too dangerous, I want to say.

Badaling Great Wall

After climbing at the half journey, I still could hear the shouting from the venders. Perhaps, only they could add some live atmosphere to this lonely wall building. Higher we climbed, more elegant this building showed. Touching the bricks built on, it seemed that I have gone back to Chinese ancient times, mysterious and quiet. All the things reflected clear and marked for me. For this important scenic spot, there are toilets and garbage boxes. Littering everywhere should be forbidden. On the whole journey, I saw much and experienced much, learnt much. After stepping on the top, to my surprised the overview scenery will be so charming. All the boring things soon disappeared!

Badaling Great Wall deserved the high fame praised by the public. It is truly a world wonder!

Spring Excursion in Beijing

Last week I had an amazing outdoor excursion to Badaling and enjoyed some walking and sightseeing in the Summer Palace when I got back in town! I was fun and as amazing as it could get! I just loved every minute of it! Definitely the best combination – Badaling hiking with relaxing garden walking – I ever had while visiting Beijing!

Badaling Great Wall

I had a decent Chinese breakfast in the morning before my tour guide showed up. It is hard not to fall in love with the Chinese food when you are in Beijing, so over the few days when I was in there I really had sampled a great deal of delicious Chinese gourmet food! As Steve Lin turned up, I jumped on a car with him, heading to our first stop of our day trip – the Badaling Great Wall. On our way over there, we talked a lot about the Great Wall. He spoke English well, so we had a great conversation and I could tell from his face that he was really proud of the Great Wall. It was fun on our ride to Badaling and before we knew it, we were already at the foot of the hill where the Great Wall was built. Upon getting off the car, we headed for the entrance. Lin took care of the entrance and we grabbed a cable car up the wall. On our way up the wall, I had a sweeping view of the snaking engineering feat from above. I got to say, it totally vowed me with its spectacular sight! After we got down on the stone path, we started to trek along on the wall with the crowd. I really had a fantastic time and a lot of fun hiking all the way up the wall and taking in the views!

Summer Palace

After we had a decent lunch in a restaurant, we started to head back to town to visit the Summer Palace. The trekking for hours on the wall was pretty exhaustive, to be honest, so I was really glad we could relax with a walking in the imperial garden – wandering at my own pace, sitting down on a bench or snapping some fine photos – just loved it there!  Summer Palace is really an amazing garden, full of temples, pavilions and other sights! Time flied! We had to call it a day after touring the garden for a while! Definitely once-in-a-lifetime experience!
