Short Journey, Big Harvest

Last Saturday, I explored Badaling Great Wall and the Ming Tombs. Booking this tour is the suggestion of my father who holds deep interests in Chinese history and culture. He always told us that China is a mysterious country housing marvelous attractions and cultures. So mysterious interests aroused in my mind.

I clearly remembered that the weather on the day showed very sunny with slight breeze. Fist destination is Ming Tombs. It is a large scale tomb group with 13 ancient emperors buried. Perhaps, because of the background history and culture, I always smelled the ancient tastes and solemn atmosphere. Tourists here are less. No matter wherever we went, tour guide always offered us the considerate information about the decorations, buildings, even the ground materials. We were ordered to appreciate Changling Tomb. It is the most magnificent and largest tomb building in this area. I got deep about its history and culture as well as the story about the emperor buried.

Badaling Great Wall

Compared with Ming Tombs, Badaling Great Wall showed more lively and vigorous. Once got off the bus, we were immediately impressed by the magnificent building. It is just like the book said a long-distance dragon, zigzagging, falling and down, stretching to the far distance without any man-made decoration. The watchtowers far distance is just like the dragon's scales. We climbed on the building. What appeared to my eyes are the crowded tourists. Some of them are holding the umbrellas. When we are climbing, the umbrellas become the big obstacle. I wanted to say, this kind of behaviors should be forbidden, because the umbrellas could easily hurt someone. We continued our climbing journey and saw best preserved watchtowers with windows. So many tourists circled appreciating and commenting. Some tourists are carving their names or sentences on the building. It is really bad behaviors. As the world wonder preserved so many years, we should protect them but destroy. After several minutes, we met the steep steps, very high forming the right-angle shape. To be honest, this time, my feet have got very tired, trembling all the time. In order to have a safe condition, we helped each other. I counted the steps, totally 32. After conquering that, I stood on the top shouted out: I have been successful!

This tour taught me much. I thought just appreciating on the book is not really enough. Only getting closer, you could get all!

Impressive Holiday, Big Harvest

Staying in Beijing for two years and I have not explored such a meaningful tour. Much thanks to my tour guide - Anna. She is really a smart tour guide, very responsible and sincere. No matter wherever we went or stay, she always tells us the attention points. W really got enough attention on the whole journey. About the scenic spots, it is no doubt terrific.

Forbidden City

Tiananmen Square appeared first. I liked the atmosphere there, large scale area, grave full of crowded tourists. It is really a very solemn place where we should pass through the safety check. There are many tourists coming here for enjoying the picture of Chairman Mao. Some are paying attention on the surroundings. We just entered into the Forbidden City through the meridian gate. Forbidden City is really a very dazzling castle full of imperial atmosphere and luxurious buildings. I enjoyed this place very happy that I combined the background and its building appearance. The main palaces built in the front area gave us a big shock, very solemn and grave. Golden appearance impressed us deeply. To the regret is they are all forbidden to enter.

Badaling Great Wall

Compared to the downtown imperial buildings, I liked Beijing suburb area better. I finally appreciated Badaling Great Wall. I really did not know how to express my exciting feeling and also did not know how to describe its appearance, its elegance and its magnificence. I just know it deserved the high fame of world wonder! At the beginning, we just leisurely enjoyed the climbing journey, free. The bricks built on this wall are all sending out ancient tastes. There are many holes appeared in the Great Wall. In fact, these small holes stored many ideas and background. We went on climbing, best preserved appearance, ancient atmosphere. Most impressive will be these watchtowers, real appearance as the book said. Standing in them, through the window, I could feel the ancient war times. Vendors selling various goods ranked along the way attracting many tourists attention. After finishing about eight percent journey, the steps for us are just like the mountains. It is very hard to keep moving. We had to find a land for relaxing. Keeping quiet to feel the real nature is a very happy enjoyment. After that, we encouraged ourselves and went on climbing.

Finally, we succeed conquering it. Standing at the top point, I found we have cultivated sentiment and mood. I widened my vision!

3 Days Beijing Experience

On my trip to Beijing this time I had more time to explore the historic city. I spent 3 days in the city and visited a couple of iconic sights over there. The day trips I had in there was fun and full of incredible sights, great shopping and gourmet food.

Forbidden City

First day of my trip to Beijing, my tour guide took me to get a glimpse of the historic sites within the city proper. They include Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and Tiananmen Square and I even got out to watch a night show in the evening. Tiananmen Square is really huge and is kind of awe-inspiring while standing on the square and looking around. The imperial palace itself is huge too and more imposing, full of magnificent palaces, halls and exquisitely designed sights. Walking around the complex is kind of like traveling back in time for me. It was dizzy yet I really loved it! While hanging around in the compound, I even got a chance to see plenty of treasure exhibits on display in some of the many halls. One of the things I liked about the palace is its luxury and style. It seemed like there were so many imperial relics in there for me to take in. The Temple of Heaven is actually a park, larger than the Forbidden City. The architecture in the park is a little bit different from those in Forbidden City yet as amazing!

Badaling Great Wall

Next day I went further outside the city roper to the suburb to visit the Ming Tombs and Great Wall at Badaling section. The tomb area had a lovely stone-paved path lined with interesting statues. I had a great walk down the path before I went inside an underground tomb for a visit to the afterlife of the Ming emperor. It is a whole new experience to me though. After that we headed for the wall. I grabbed a cable car up the wall and enjoyed an incredible hike along the snaking wall. It was just as amazing as it could be and I really enjoyed every minute of it! Last day I completed my trip to Beijing with a visit to Summer Palace and had a relaxing walk to Hutong.

Overall, best 3 days I had while visiting China! Loved it there in China!
