Impressive Short Day Trip in Beijing

As capital of China, Beijing is the first stop in my China trips. Arrived at hotel in Beijing, I searched the local Beijing China travel agency to plan my Beijing one day tour. Ever stay in Beijing, always for business, and also had visited some famous attractions of Beijing. This tour, I just chosen the spots I no visited. This time, I would be a true man, so I chosen the Great Wall as the destination. By the way, Summer Palace was the other spot in my Beijing trip.

Beautiful View from the Watchtower

Arrived at the Great Wall at Badaling, I gave up the idea to take cable car and climbed to the Badaling section. It is not very steep, so climbed it is easy for me. The most interesting thing was I got a medal carved my named, which said I have got succeed at this section. Most of Chinese tourists, I should have preferred the Mutianyu section, it just achieve in next time. Come across a Chinese girl, she was very enthusiasm and seemed very like to talk with me. Oh, I was so happy for this incident. Crowded people, I could not take picture at any famous place at Badaling. But it is a worthy spot for tourists in Beijing. As one of the seven wonders in the world, Badaling always become the first choice for travelers first time to Beijing. However, if second time, you may be choose the Mutianyu section, because of less people.

Large Artificial Lake in Summer Palace

After Chinese lunch, we drove to Summer Palace, the most famous and well-preserved imperial garden. On the way to Summer Palace, the tour guide also told me another three gardens as well as Summer Palace in China, even the built history of the Summer Palace. It is said that it is the perfect combination of northern and southern architecture arts and skills. Also crowded with many people, but most of them take exercise there such as Tiaji, card, dancing, singing, etc. As a garden, it was the largest I have seen before this Beijing trip, including Kunming Lake, Wanshou Mountain, Tower of Fragrant Buddha, Seventeen-arch Bridge and Garden of Harmonious Interest. Walked everyone, I surprised the elaborate skills and abundant imagination. These named of the spots were very appropriate and vivid.

Thanks for suggesting me such good Beijing tour. I would regard it as the best memory kept in my mind.

5 Days Memorable Excursion to the Capital of China

Beijing is my first destination city choice since I decided visit China last month. My family and I, we were so happy after joined the tour. For me, Beijing is a nice, well organized, and very coordinated city. Not as bad as from my imagination. The city is also very modern with advanced facilities and transportation system. That was nice for me to finally come to China.

Tiananmen Tower

Arrived at Beijing, the tour agency staff picked us up at the airport then transferred us to the hotel. Then we began our trip on the second day. I think the itinerary was good, not too rushed either. On the second day, we did visit Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven. The third day, we could visit Great Wall and Ming Tombs, both destinations are located outside Beijing downtown, in the suburb area near from the town. And the fourth day, we could visit Summer Palace and Hutong. On the last day, staff picked us up from the hotel then transfer to the airport, back to Chicago.

During our 3 days full tour, each day we could visit two attractions were so ideal schedule. We got enough time to explore by our own, took some photos as well as heard the guide explanation in each important spots during the tour. Once again, not too rushed and all organized well. Among several impressive attractions around or in Beijing, besides Great Wall, Forbidden City and Summer Palace, Hutong had given me different impression about the city.

Hutong Rickshaw

Hutong which known as the old residence areas of traditional local people was where now foreigners could learn culture and habits of Beijing people. Hutong become famous for its narrow alleys. Lots of alley we could explore by took the rickshaw ride or pedicab, two people in one pedicab. Along the way, we could take some photos anywhere we want. We did see lots of interesting activities of the local as well as several old buildings that still used till now. The rickshaw ride is an interesting and fun ride, fresh experience for us, the whole family. For about 2 hours we roamed around the old local alleys, by walk plus took traditional Chinese rickshaw.

Not only in Hutong, our visit to others historical sites around Beijing was memorable and great. Thank you for the service and all the efforts which made our trip incredible!

A Short Trip to the Capital and Great Wall

After living more than 1 year in China, finally I climbed the Great Wall! A whole day tour overall I thought was very worth and organized. From the start, the guide picked us up at the hotel on time and transfer to Mutianyu Great Wall. We took about 2 hours ride from the downtown till Great Wall which located in the suburb outside Beijing. Luckily the van we did take was very comfortable, with air conditioning so the journey was relaxing.

Mutianyu Great Wall covering Green Color

When we arrived to the Great Wall at about 10:00am, we were glad to see what a clear, relatively warm, and sunny day it was! We had 2 hours and we wanted to walk along the Great Wall as long as we could. We walked, climbed, walked, and climbed, amazed by the scenery in the surroundings. Mutianyu Great Wall relatively less crowded and fewer visitors. Some parts of the Wall were also little bit hard to climb and kind of steep.

Together with my friends, we acted silly, made tons of jokes, and took some fun pictures. I walked up and down loads of stairs. Tons and tons and tons of steep steps to climb… what a challenge!! We enjoyed our time in Great Wall, want to reach as far as we can but did not enforce ourselves too much.

Wild Part on Mutianyu Great Wall

In some part of the section, we also could find the place where almost no other tourists with unbelievable view. We got some nice pictures without even one stranger in and yelled loudly off the Great Wall. Because our time was limited then we should back to the foot of the Wall on time. On the bottom of the Wall, we could see some souvenirs stalls with sociable sellers who always offer the souvenirs to us, foreigners. The outdoor market was also got some dried fruit, sweet walnuts and others. We met our guide after that and directly continue our trip and had lunch. Then back to downtown for a visit to Summer Palace, last destination.

Overall, the trip was well organized and worth every cent I spent. My friends and I, we all really enjoyed the trip till the end. A great experience of mine!
