Impressive Original Great Wall

I clearly remembered on the first day of my tour, after exploring the Ming Tomb, we were transferred to the farmhouse near Jinshanling Great Wall. To be honest, at that time, I have tasted the tranquil and wild features.

Jinshanling Great Wall

My mother got up very early, because she has heard this mysterious Great Wall for long time. We started the hiking journey from the east section. Morning sunlight is full of strength and vigorous feeling. We backpacked the camera, drinks and my favorite snacks starting the dreamful journey. The road is easy to hike, very fluent and wild. Most of the wall bricks have been destroyed only leaving the ruined sections. Under the light breeze, I could smell the flavor of the earth. For the summer season, all the dewdrops in the grasses send out sparkling color, delicate and lovely. I think this time, the air is the most fresh in this metropolis city, I was really mixed into this tranquil suburb area without any man-made decorations. Wow, it is just the watchtower. It has lost the roof, only the destroyed windows and grasses as well as the grey walls. Tourists are becoming more and more. We greeted with each other throw the best wishes. After half an hour, we choose one corner for sitting and relaxing. Drinking the water, appreciating the natural sceneries, I suddenly found the water become sweet. The sceneries in close distance and the far distance are all showing the fresh color.

Compared to Jinshanling Great Wall, Simatai Great Wall showed more dangerous and unique full of risk sections. There are many section roads full of ruined bricks. We paid much attention hiking on the journey, too adventurous and exciting. I helped my mother and we passed through one by one ruined section. Successful feeling is full of my mind and body. Sceneries here are also very beautiful with several birds singing. They seemed to be speaking to the travelers here. Slowly, we got the half journey. We choose the watchtower for leisurely appreciating and relax. I walked around the destroyed building thinking too much, Chinese ancient history, culture and the local typical tranquility. The sun raises high and the temperature is becoming hotter and hotter. Tourists here are less than just now. We took out the cameras taking some pictures with this risky building. I did not know I still housed many interest.

On the way back to the downtown area, all my nerves are still inspired for the magnificent Great Wall wonder!

Incredible Great Wall Hiking in Beijing

This summer my Mom was visiting me in Beijing for a couple days. So I decided to take her to see the Great Wall of China. We picked some restored sections of the wall including Badaling, Mutianyu and Juyonguan. The next day we made an early start and all set for our day trips. Just as we finished our breakfast, our tour guide showed up and we jumped on a car and hit the road to Badaling first.

Badaling Great Wall

We took a cable car up the wall at Badaling and walked along the stone paved paths, among all the tourists. The Wall at Badaling, overall, was very impressive. It is just incredible how high and thick it was built. The wall seems to go on and on snaking over the crest of the mountains. Parts of it are incredibly steep, and we could not help but wonder how anyone managed to build such a thing, especially in a time with no modern construction equipment available. Badaling was kind of busy with crowds that day and we barely had some private space for our photos on the wall.

Juyongguan Great Wall

After lunch, we headed for Juyonguan with our guide. We enjoyed an incredible walk over there with not so many people out there like Badaling. The watch towers at Juyongguan were even more impressive and there was a huge city out there. Our experience at Juyongguan was just incredible, but that was not all. At the end of the day, we were arranged to crash for the night at a farm house located at the foothill at Juyongguan. It was definitely a whole new experience for both of us.

Early the next day, after breakfast, we hit the road again and this time we headed for Mutianyu section. We enjoyed an incredible walk over there too. And the views were just spectacular and took our breath away. At Mutianyu, there were plenty of paths and stairs very steep and it took us lots of efforts to get over them, But it was kind of adventurous and we were treated to quite a sight while standing on the highest point of the wall. Overall, we really enjoyed some quality time while exploring the wall outside Beijing. Definitely an essential Chinese experience for my mom!

Walk all the Way in Beijing

Last week, I enjoyed a few days exploring the Great Wall at different sections outside Beijing. It was fun and really amazing to walk on the wall each of which held its own features. It was definitely an essential Chinese experience to me! Over those days, I was taken to a couple of sections of the wall, but personally I just liked the sections off the beaten path, like the Jinshanling and Simatai sections. At those off the beaten path fragments of the wall, it was filled with blood-pumping experiences and adventure. More importantly, the walk was just as incredible as it could be!

Jinshanling Great Wall

On the first day of my trip, my tour guide met me at the hotel and we hopped on a van for Badaling and Juyongguan sections. Those two sections were well restored and it was kind of easy to walk all the way up the wall, nothing particular except for the walk and the towers. On the second day, we headed for the section at Huanghuacheng. I got to say, the section was incredible and it got everything that I was looking for on my excursion. The lovely lakes, the crumbling wall remains as well as amazing farm houses – all gave me such a great time while exploring Huanghuacheng. All I got to do over there was to relax and enjoy the amazing outdoors as well as the fresh air. It was really great to walk on the wall at my own pace, and with no one else but me and my tour guide, I felt like the whole wall was all to myself. Walk on the wall was energy-consuming, but it was totally worth it all. I was rewarded by quite a sight while hiking the Huanghuacheng section. Incredible sights were at every bend of the path. I really enjoyed myself at Huanghuacheng, of course.

However, the highlight of my excursion was definitely the walk at Jinshanling and Simatai sections. It was all about adventure and fun while exploring the crumbling sections of the wall. Being off the beaten path and all, the wall was kind of wilder and almost left to nature, making it hard to walk over, yet the views were just breathtaking and incredible. After my walk at those sections, I felt like there is truly nothing else in the world that could get me down. The walk was a test of my courage and confidence and l had learned so much about the wall as well. Overall, great days and great memories!
