Deep Visit to Jinshanling Great Wall

Come to Beijing visiting my grandfather, we booked this tour. From my father, I got Jinshanling Great Wall connecting closely with Chinese ancient history and culture from the architecture and original appearance. So I was very curious about this section.

Jinshanling Great Wall

On the departure day, tour guide picked us in the afternoon. We prepared some thick clothes, because we will stay at the Jinshanling Great Wall for overnight. My mother, father and I, we all got very exciting about everything. Driver is responsible helping us carry the luggage into the trunk. We got on the car chatting with tour guide - Anna. Her English is very fluent. We communicated from the Jinshanling Great Wall to modern Beijing.

Beijing suburb area is very tranquil with green trees. Even though it is the deep autumn season, I did not feel any dreariness. About two hour driving, we arrived at Jinshanling Great Wall. Under the leading of tour guide, we started hiking from the west section. It is indeed that Jinshanling Great Wall is the witness of history. All the walls are almost ruined seriously. What reflected to my eyes are wild appearances and features. We climbed on. The road is very easy to pass through. I the gaps of the bricks, it is full of the wild grasses. Watch towers are not like that in Badaling Great Wall. There was no roof on them. Standing inside, watching the sky, a kind of sophisticated feeling come to me. I did not know how to express the feeling. I only got the ancient culture clearly!

Gradually, we saw the red sunlight sending out from the west direction. It is just like playing the hide-and-seek with us. So charming the sunset view! We stand on the Jinshanling Great Wall seeing the great phenomenon. Sometimes, there are few birds flying away bringing us the hops and happy atmosphere. I felt we are situating in the edge of the sky, feeling everything and the life of this section. In the night, we stayed at the local farm house deep experiencing the local farm life and the delicious farm dishes. The hosts are passionate taking care of us all the time. We cultivated warm relationship with them. Even though, they cannot speak English, we can really get their sincere.

I liked this two days Jinshanling Great Wall tour too much. It brings us not only the climbing tour but a warm and meaningful life experience!

Engineering Feat

Visited Beijing this summer, and saw plenty of historic sites in the city. It is a really fun trip I did in China. I really loved the city and had a lot of fun on that vacation. The Great Wall of China is the highlight of my travel to Beijing.

Badaling Great Wall

My trip to the Great Wall lasted for only half day and the section I visited with my guide is called Badaling, the most popular section in Beijing. To avoid the crowd and traffic, we made an early start in the morning. After he met me at the hotel, we hit the road on a car ride to Badaling. To save time, I took the cable car up the wall and the ride is fun and I got a good look at the snaking wall. Visited the Great Wall for the first time, I was really excited that I could walk the wall and see it up close. The engineering feat is quite impressive and lives up to its hype as world heritage site. My guide filled me in with a lot of history about the wall, which made my trip to the wall even more fun and enjoyable.

The most memorable thing I did on the wall is no doubt the trek. It is really fun to hike up and down the stone path. There are plenty steep parts along the wall, which made it quite challenging to climb up and down the wall. After an hour, I had to take rest from time to time to. The watch towers are impressive too and I used them to mark the path that I have hiked. The scenery out there is incredible with the snaking and the never-ending countryside all over the place. There are plenty of opportunities to snap great photos and as I made it to the wall earlier than others, it was not crowded at the section that I walked with my guide. I could explore the wall at my own pace and enjoy myself as well while hiking along the path.

Overall, the half day trip to the Great Wall I did in Beijing ended very well and I really had a great time that day. Great trip! Great memory!
