Puffing Up and Down

I am really glad we went to see the Great Wall at Mutianyu section. The walk on the wall is just incredible and we both had a great time and fun. It felt so amazing to discover the Great Wall of China in that way. Puffing up and down the wall is definitely blood-pumping experience to both of us.

Mutianyu Great Wall

It is such a pity we only had half day to explore the wall. We got up very early that day. Our guide is very funny and passionate. We hit it off right away and had a great talk on the way over there. The ride took about 1.5 hours and soon we arrived at the foothill of the Great Wall. We first headed for a cable car station to catch a ride up the wall. The ride is so much fun and soon we were landed on the flat path. We were both very excited to finally get to walk the wall in person. It felt so awesome so we started to walk along right away. Our guide was with us the whole time and kept telling us about the history and story of the Great Wall. It is more fun and enjoyable to get to know the wall that way.

There are not many people out there hiking the wall. The refreshing mountain air is really crispy and the countryside as well as the outdoors is as incredible as it can be. The wall itself is quite impressive too. There are many watch towers built on the wall and some parts of the wall got very steep, which made our walk very difficult. We had to take rest from time to time and soon we puffed our way up and down. But we were treated to quite a sight up there. The snaking wall made it all worth it. We also took plenty of photos up the wall and even climbed up a few towers to get a better view of the surroundings. The experience is just incredible and overwhelmed me a lot! When it was time to get down the wall, we also took a slide down. It was fun too. Next we headed back to the city and had some good rest in our hotel. Great Wall! Great half-day trip!
