Itinerary of: 15 days China Cities & Yangtze River Cruise Tour

Day 1

Day 1: Arrival at Beijing
Arrive at Beijing. Be met & transferred to your hotel. Free at leisure for the rest of the day.

Day 2

Day 2: Beijing (B, L, D)
Full day trip to the Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven. Enjoy a Peking Duck Banquet for dinner and Peking Opera Show in the evening.

- The Tiananmen Square: the largest public square in the world. It is 880 meters from north to south, and 500 meters from east to west, with a total area of 440,000 square meters and can hold one million people.

- The Forbidden City: the largest ancient imperial palaces where 24 emperors, 14 of the Ming and 10 of the Qing, ruled the country from here over a span of nearly 500 years.

- The Temple of Heaven: The temple was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for good harvests.

Day 3

Day 3: Beijing (B, L)
Full day trip to the Badaling Great Wall, Ming Tomb.

- The Badaling Great Wall: As its name implies it gives access to every direction. With an elevation of 600 meters it is the most famous and best-preserved section of the Great Wall.

- The Ming Tomb: also called Shisanling (literally, Thirteen Tombs), it is the largest clusters of imperial cemeteries in China. They are mausoleums of thirteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty.

Day 4

Day 4: Beijing - Xian (B, L)
Visit the Summer Palace. Drive to Beijing capital airport, see off, take afternoon flight to Xian. Arrive in Xian. Be met & transferred to your hotel. Visit the Ancient City Wall on the way to the hotel.

- The Summer Palace: the largest and best preserved imperial garden of the Qing Dynasty extant in Beijing, as well as a famous classical imperial garden.

- The Ancient City Wall: the most complete city wall survived in China as well as one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world.

Day 5

Day 5: Xian (B, L)
Visit the Terra Cotta Warriors. To avoid having the poor food at the site, you will take highway back to downtown to have lunch at a well-known Cantonese cuisine restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. This evening you will be entertained with the marvelous Tang Dynasty Show.

- The Terra Cotta Warriors: It is a part of the tomb complex of Qin emperor, the Terra Cotta Warriors is the greatest findings in the archeology world.

- The Big Wild Goose Pagoda: the symbol of the long history of Xian, and a well-preserved ancient building and holy worshipping shrine for Buddhists.

- Tang Dynasty Show: a wonderful performance of the ancient music and dance, is a must when you visit Xian.

Day 6

Day 6: Xian - Chongqing (B, L)
Visit the Provincial Museum, fly to Chongqing in the afternoon. Have a brief city tour to the Panda House in Chongqing Zoo if time allows. Then transfer to the Cruises.

- The Provincial Museum: Opened in 1991, the museum is a giant architectural in the Tang-dynasty style and it successfully symbolizes the great extent of Shaanxi history and its remarkable culture.

Day 7

Day 7: Yangtze River (B, L, D)
The cruise starts at 9:00. Excursion to Fengdu (Ghost city), a must- shore excursion site on the Yangtze cruise.

- Fengdu (Ghost city): Fengdu is the only ghost city in China. The temples are all over the mountain with many statues.

Day 8

Day 8: Yangtze River (B, L, D)
Excursion to Baidicheng. Passing Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge, Drifting in the Shennong Stream. Passing Dam Shiplock, the Three Gorges Dam will be the largest hydropower station and dam in the world.

- Qutang Gorge: it is the first of the three gorges of the Yangtze River and it is famous for its sheer and spectacular precipices.

- Wu Gorge: Wu Gorge is the second gorge of the Three Gorges system in Yangtze River and gifted with exquisite peaks and lush mountains and ranges.

- Shennong Stream: is one of the most important ports of call for Yangtze Three Gorges tour. It is a 60-kilometer tributary of the Yangtze River

- Three Gorges Dam: located in the Yiling District of Yichang, in Hubei province, China. It is a hydroelectric dam that spans the Yangtze River by the town of Sandouping. It is the largest electricity-generating in the world.

Day 9

Day 9: Yichang - Shanghai by air (B, L)
Passing Xiling Gorge. Arrival at Yichang, on the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Our local tour guide will meet you at the port. After lunch, transferred to the Yichang Airport. Take the afternoon flight for Shanghai. Met and transferred to your hotel in Shanghai.

- Xiling Gorge: it is the largest and furthest downstream of the Three Gorges.

Day 10

Day 10: Shanghai (B, L)
Visit the Shanghai Museum and the Yuyuan Garden. Visit the Bund and Nanjing Road.

- Shanghai Museum: ranked as the best museum of China.

- Yuyuan Garden: is considered one of the most lavish and finest Chinese gardens in the region.

- The Bund: the picturesque bund with tall building of various tower over the river, looking as a museum of modern world architecture.

- Nanjing Road: the most famous thoroughfare in Shanghai for shopping and entertainment.

- Huangpu River: one of the most important rivers in Shanghai, like an undulating dragon from Wusong to the East Sea.

Day 11

Day 11: Shanghai - Guilin (B, L)
No escorted tour is scheduled in the morning and you could explore the city on your own. Head for Guilin by an afternoon flight, and your local professional tour guide will expect you with comfortable airport-hotel transfer service. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 12

Day 12: Guilin - Yangshuo - Guilin (B, L)
Enduring memories are created today as you cruise down the Li River Cruise to Yangshuo. Upon arrival in Yangshuo, a short bicycle trip to the countryside will then be arranged. You will visit home of a local villager to experience the lifestyle of farmer there. Alternatively, you can take our electric car instead of taking bicycles. Transfer back to Guilin.

- Li River Cruise: From Guilin to Yangshuo. To travel the river, one will find its natural sights vary in different weathers, but are all beautiful.

- Yangshuo: An ancient city town. Yangshuo is famous for its attractive hills and waters as well as its abundant production particularly for such fruits as sweet orange, tangerine, pomelo and persimmon.

Day 13

Day 13: Guilin - Hongkong (B, L)
Visit the Reed Flute Cave, Seven Star Park and the Elephant Trunk Hill. Take a flight to Hongkong and transfer to the hotel.

- Reed Flute Cave: One of the most famous caves in Guilin. The 240-meter-long cave contains numerous grotesque-shaped stalactities that form four zones of the cave: Stone Forest, Heavenly Pillar and Cloud Mountain, Crystal Palace and Zigzagging Gallery.

- The Seven Stars Park: In the park is the famous Seven Stars Mountain, which has many water-eroded caves. Among these caves, the most famous scenic spot in the park is the Seven Stars Cave, which is inside the Putuo Hill.

- Elephant Trunk Hill: shapes just like an elephant drinking water from the river with its trunk, thus its name. The symbol of Guilin. 

Day 14

Day 14: Hong Kong (B)
Full day is free and we only book the hotel with breakfast for you. You are recommended to take a half day visit to the Victoria Peak, the Repulse Bay, Aberdeen and the Stanley Market. Take a taxi to the Pier to take Star Ferry to Kowloon side, and walk along the waterfront promenade back to Hotel.

Day 15

Day 15: Hongkong Exit (B)
After breakfast, arrange the hotel-airport transfer on your own to board your homebound flight.
